June 16: Calista Wu Listening Party

Tuesday night a bunch of us went up to LA to check out a CD release party from Calista Wu. She's local talent that went to Troy with some of my friends.

The event was held at Bordello Bar, one of the oldest bars in town.

The interior is true to its roots: a house of burlesque with red lights, lavish upholstery, and satin...everything.

The opening act for Calista was Tatum Jones (formerly At Last). A pretty chill group that was on America's Got Talent a few seasons ago (Video).

Jason, Lynn, Stephen, Bryan.

Jon, Bryan, Stephen, myself.

The lady of the night, Calista Wu!

Trey, Cesar, Cory, Dave, Stephen, and Jason...double fisting it? Everyone was having a good time just hanging out at the bar.

Then the night got a little more interesting. Jason had managed to pound down around 4 shots and 6 mixed drinks throughout the night. We ended up walking a few laps outside for some fresh air. You gotta pace yourself dude.

It was pretty late and most of the bar cleared. Stephen found this as the opportune time to shine. I bet he's playing his little melody of Vanessa Carlton's A Thousand Miles and the theme to Disney's Hercules.

I went back to the bar to chill with Jon and Bryan. 15 minutes later, this kid walks up to me. What the f*ck happened to your face?!

The artist and her muse.

Stephen borrowed the stamp and inkpad from the doorman and had a little fun with it.

Yayyyy....

You look like the Asian Zoolander that came out of the coal mine.

Wat and Jon who has become very fond of my hat.

Get your own!

Lookin' good B. Stephen man, I told you to wash up in the bathroom.

Time to go home.

One last trip to DT before Dave leaves for Chicago. Thanks Stephen, but it was pretty difficult to eat across from you.

Game 5: Lakers Clinch!

After the Vegas trip (and a long shower), I headed over to Stephen's house to watch Game 5 between the Lakers and Magic. I lot of people said that the Magic would lose and the Lakers would win the title at home. From the beginning of the series, I called the Lakers in 5, winning games 4 and 5 in Orlando. Just call me Nostradamus.

I look kinda dead in this picture. I was still hungover from the night before.

That's a BIG banana...

Dave having the time of his life. (He's a Pistons fan.)

At the end of the day, the MVP and the rest of the team came through. Hungry until the end. Check out those stats!

Congrats Kobe. You put the haters to rest until next season.

In the middle of the 3rd quarter, Bryan was asking me what I would do if the Lakers won tonight. We celebrate of course! Rubios. (huh?)

The squizzad: El Bryano, Brian, Dave, and Sleepy.

I got a shirt for each of the family members coming in the mail too!

CONGRATS TO THE LAKE SHOW!
