And this is officially the last post of 2008. The year has had it's major downers, but with plenty of uppers to make up for it and then some. I'll have a year in review of my blog posted soon enough. 2008 has been really good to me, but I can't wait to see what 2009 has to offer. Life only gets better with experience.

Everyone please be safe wherever you go and in doing whatever you do. Don't drink and drive. SEE YOU IN THE '09!

Dec 28: San Diego Swapmeet Treasures

Another beautiful day in San Diego. I didn't have much planned for the day except to enjoy some rest and relaxation. I got a personal invite from Annabelle and Michelle to join them at the weekly Kobey's Swap Meet at the San Diego Sports Arena. Time for some quality time with 2/3rds of my favorite SD bitches. I haven't been to a swapmeet since I lived in Fullerton (20 years ago?!).
Photobucket

The primary objective for the ladies was to get a rug for the living room. Mission accomplished early. Michelle got the steal of a lifetime. A large area rug that probably retails around $180, usually sells for $120 at a discount furniture store. She copped hers for $60! The trip was already worth it.
Photobucket

We the rest of the morning/afternoon ahead of us we perused the selection. Are you about to sneeze dude?
Photobucket

Next stop was a booth equipped with pet tag engravings. Dude had all shapes and sizes.
Photobucket

Irish is in store for a brand new clover tag! Representing Bumsville for life.
Photobucket

More perusing. Fruits and veggies.
Photobucket

Mini pineapples.
Photobucket

THE CHARGERS ARE GOING TO THE PLAYOFFS BABY!
Photobucket

And the Lakers are playoff bound. This is pretty sick.
Photobucket

And then I think I died... and went to heaven. Nintendo cartridges for days. Everyone remembers blowing the cartridges when the game wouldn't load. WHO HAD GAME GENIE!?!?
Photobucket

Rampage.
Photobucket

Spot! (You know, the 7-Up mascot?)
Photobucket

T&C Wood & Water Race. Skateboarding was pretty cool. Surfing was impossible! I love this game. ::instant erection::
Photobucket

The Batman and Ninja Turtle series. Batman 1 > Batman 2. TMNT 2 > TMNT 1. I never understood why the TMNT 1 cover had 4 Rafaels?! And it was only single player! TMNT 2 conquers all.
Photobucket

The Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link. GOLD CARTRIDGES! That's so 80's.
Photobucket

The units themselves were $40 with warranty. (I'm not sure how THAT works.) I was tempted to buy, but maybe next time around. Check out the OG Power Pad in the back!!
Photobucket

Snack break. I felt like I was at the SD fair. Michelle copped funnel cake with powdered sugar.
Photobucket

Annabelle and her rasta sno-cone. Yellow ice?
Photobucket

Kettle corn ALWAYS makes me happy.
Photobucket

More treasures. Not exactly the Zack Morris phone, but still nostalgic.
Photobucket

Sorry Brian. Coke owns Pepsi. (But Pepsi comes 2nd?)
Photobucket

View Master. My favorite set was the old Disneyland one I had a long time ago.
Photobucket

I thought it said "CHALKBOHRD". Hah.
Photobucket

LaserDisc Chip 'N' Dale!
Photobucket

Some OG wheel hubs. I would have copped this for my homie Nash for his birthday but they were selling as a set of 4.
Photobucket

The Jacksons Live.
Photobucket

Another treasure: The Magical Mystery Tour by the Beatles. Another satisfied treasure hunter.
Photobucket

A very successful day at the swapmeet. We ended the day with a trip to Lucha Libre off Washington St.
Photobucket

I like this enlarged photograph hanging in the back.
Photobucket

The appetizer: chips, salsa, and the freshest spicy carrots I've ever had. Crispy and marinated. These made Annabelle sweat!
Photobucket

Rolled shredded beef tacos. The shell was crispy and the beef was soft and cooked to perfection.
Photobucket

Pollo asada fries. I've been craving pollo fries and this definitely hit the spot. They serve it in an aluminum tin pan like a pizza. The fries were crispy and the chicken was flavored with garlic and cilantro. I think I died and went to heaven again.
Photobucket

To top my meal off, I had some "Mexican" Coke. They use real sugar rather than the corn syrup that's in American Coke. So it tastes sweeter. What a great ending.
Photobucket

Some things that I'll be for sure to look out for at the next swapmeet: an OG Nintendo Advantage Joystick, Super Dodgeball, OG TMNT figures, and an old skool spring-loaded pencil case with the pencil sharpener and magnifying glass.

Thanks to Annabelle and Michelle for hanging out with me! 143 Bumsville!

Dec 27 Pt 2: The Ratio Killers

As I've learned in the past, spontaneity pays off. After we convinced each other to stay one night, I inspired the group and let them know that good things come out of spontaneity. The original trip itself wasn't planned, and neither was this night. Go with the flow and you can't go wrong.

One gripe that the group had was that the party from the other night had a lot more guys than expected. But it's not like our group helped. We strolled into Onyx/Thin with 9 dudes and 2 girls! We dubbed ourselves the Ratio Killers for obvious reasons. We didn't care though. GUYS NIGHT OUT! Here we are getting our pre-party on.
Photobucket

David (aka Drama) and Angelo run Anaheim Hills.
Photobucket

Russ and Rick. Russ likes to rock the shemagh scarf.
Photobucket

Don-Don looks faded already... It's only 9pm dude.
Photobucket

As our dads would say, "CHEERS! CHEERS! CHEERS!"
Photobucket

Ray dropped by for a bit. He had other plans. Good meeting you dude.
Photobucket

We finally step out around 11pm and head to Basic. Basic was only 2 blocks away. You can't really get any closer. Denson's reaching his breakpoint...
Photobucket

Another reason why we're the Ratio Killers. Mark's homies from UCI were in town to support a friend who was spinning at Basic.
Photobucket

Rob from 5&A Dime missed out on the Segue-Mag party. You're bummed. But it was good seeing you man.
Photobucket

Mark pretended to be Japanese carrying around his big ass camera around. Ladies love it.
Photobucket

Let me show you how to take a picture!
Photobucket

Me and the Kaiklians.
Photobucket

Looks like the ratio wasn't a problem that night. Russ & Mark with more new friends. Where's your scarf Russell?
Photobucket

Ladies love Yams.
Photobucket

I seriously don't remember these people haha.
Photobucket

Bummed. What happened to guys night out?!?
Photobucket

Over it. Damn.
Photobucket

Yo dogg where did you get that scarf?
Photobucket

"Denson. You know how I know you're gay? Cuz you tried to make out with your brother."
Photobucket

"Jon-Jon. You know how I know you're gay? Cuz you got a guys number outside."
You're damn right I did. Dude works at the Gucci store in Vegas and I could use a new belt and wallet.
Photobucket

Denson is one tough drunk.
Photobucket

Time to head out. Who's scarf is that...
Photobucket

We walked around 5th Ave and grabbed some pizza and said wussup to some randoms. Drama was MIA for a while. Here he is auditioning for the part of "Russell" for the next big movie: The Ratio Killers.
Photobucket

One of the things discussed at the roundtable earlier that day was that EVERYONE had to be throwing up by the end of the night. Well we all failed.
Photobucket

Except for the champ right here. PACQUIAO! "TWOOOOOO WEEKS!"
Photobucket

We somehow get Denson into the car and the majority of the crew head back to the OC at 4:30am. Just for you Dink. I stuck around to chill with Mark and David. I'm glad you all had a good time in SD guys. We'll do it again for sure.
