Wow I didn't think I'd do this again after the previous 4 trips (March, June, August, and August again). And I'm pretty sure there won't be any more trips for the rest of the year. To be honest, I was hoping it would be cancelled because I'm just too exhausted and had some things to get done.
Then again, when have I turned down a Vegas trip this year? Never! (Well unless you count the 5&A Dime heads going during the Pacquiao fight... and also Magic weekend which would have made 3 trips in August alone.)
We met up at Jasmine's old house (congrats on moving back in and finding your old belongings!), hit up Costco for lunch and we were on our way. I can't believe this is California at the lower elevations. It also snowed in Vegas, but by the time we got there, the Strip was clear.
Vegas hotels are cheap these days! We stayed at the Tropicana for the night.
There were 8 of us total: Bruce, Tunde, Jasmine, Helen, Kevin, Jenny, Daniel, and myself. After we checked in and settled down, we downed a couple handles in an hour and head out to dinner.
One thing that Bruce constantly talks about doing is going to P.F. Changs at Planet Hollywood. He claims that it's the best P.F. Changs in the world and that the food is absolutely amazing. I've always been skeptical because P.F. Changs in general is not THAT amazing and to me has always been a overpriced Panda Express.
Well now I can honestly say that... IT REALLY IS THE BEST P.F. CHANGS IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD! I'm pretty sure that these are the factors that help attribute to this claim: 1) I'm drunk as hell, and when I'm drunk, I get hungry; 2) it's like negative 20 degrees outside, so after walking down the strip, anything hot is good; 3) since we're in Vegas and a majority of the people around you are drunk too, you can be as loud as you want and no one cares! At least no one seemed to care...
Dizzle, and the two birthday girls Jenners & Helen.
Me & Kevin. Kevin's leaving for med school soon in the tropics! We'll be sure to chill before then dude. Happy Belated as well! And good luck with your publishing.
The rest of the L.A. set: Bruce, Jasmine, Daniel (and his epic hair).
Tunes on the phone. Hi Asahi! (See I DID remember to give you a shoutout!)
The best egg drop soup ever.
The best orange beef ever. Thanks Danny!
The best family style fake Chinese food that gives you the sh*ts,... EVER!
And to top it off, strawberry cheesecake in a glass.
This fortune seems to be something specifically made for Vegas... But maybe I should use those lotto numbers anyway...
Guess how many of us are beyond buzzed in this picture? YEP SIX OF US! We're pretty good at keeping our composure in pictures at least.
And as I've said before, I can't blog/function when I'm drunk, so there aren't a lot of pictures. We somehow end up at Fat Tuesdays for some crappy jello shots. I have no idea where this is, but I definitely don't recommend it.
Toasts and handshakes all around.
Daniel jumping the gun.
See how bad these were! At least your hair is still epic dude.
We were still running on the notion that this will be a cheap trip. We refused to pay to get into anywhere. But with our 5 to 3 ratio, we weren't gonna get into any places good. We checked out a lounge called Caramel. Super cheap 2 for 1 drinks: win. Crappy DJ: lose. And of course Jenny with her camera radar.
We try a few other spots with no success. So we head back to the room. Tunde passing out: lose. Tunde's snoring: major lose.
The next morning we hit up the standard: Tuscany Suites off the strip for the $4.99 1/2 pound burger combo. This was so delicious.
Tuscany always proves to be a decent standby. Nice rooms with cheap food and tables. We didn't get to take over a craps table this time though. We decided to head back to Anaheim.
Many thanks to Bruce for putting this trip together. It wasn't the typical club trip but still a lot of fun. Too bad we missed out on our best for the Chargers. Sorry I couldn't make another epic video, but maybe next time.
