Dec 18: Classic Cut Tuesdays @ Blind Barber

Another outing with the MONDAY NIGHT CREW TUESDAY NIGHT CREW!!
(Maybe we should just call it Weeknight...Night.. Crew...?? Nah.)

Our crew doubled in size for the week, as the holiday season is making everyone want to hang out and drink. Or maybe it's because I'm calling people out on being old and boring. Our drink of the night: Hendricks gin and tonic with a cucumber slice. My new favorite drink. And it's been a while since I've seen Sammie spin, but now that she's looking to be back in SoCal, hopefully I'll get to see her more often. You can catch
SoSuperSam at Blind Barber every Tuesday.

Gin and tonics to start off the night.

Tritons reunited! And you got the red beanie memo!

I can't believe we drank this much...

Dec 16: Chargers vs Panthers

My first legitimate tailgate! Previous attempts have failed in the past due to a lack of planning. But thanks to Anson and crew, we were on top of our game. We drove down and got our groceries the night before the game, got to bed early, and got up early to get up and set up shop. We coincidentally parked next to Hannah, Edric, Klev, and April's usual tailgating spot, E3. And Ollie and Co. were hosting a HUGE tailgate party going on next door at D4. What an awesome experience! Thanks everyone!

The game itself was the worst game I ever saw. Cam lit up the Chargers with 3 touchdowns in the first quarter I think, and the Bolts could never recover. By the end of the game, it started to drizzle. Typical.

Ribs, spicy sausages, and King's Hawaiian bread. Only the best.

Thanks for the oversized jersey and hat for the day Fitz!

Don't let my facial expression mislead you.

I miss the WBZ and WGZ fam.

The Team. Thanks for letting me tag along guys.

GAME TIME!

One of the few plays on our end of the field.

CHARGERS ARE ON THE BOARD!

I think the score was 31-7 by now. Time to go home.

Ahhh San Diego pho, why are you so good...

Dec 14: 3lau, The FatRat, & Sound Remedy @ The Fonda Theatre

So Fitz has been working behind the scenes on a new non-profit organization which will involve his semi-recent love for EDM. To get a little more experience and exposure to both the non-profit and show-producing work, he reached out to 3lau's manager to help organize the recent show at The Fonda. Proceeds from the concert went towards Pencils of Promise. Fitz was able to bring local Los Angeles DJ, The FatRat, onto the bill as well. Congratulations Fitz on making some moves!

As for me, I got a little too drunk and spent too much cash that I shouldn't have kept in my wallet. I also dropped my camera at the end of the night and put it out of commission for good. (Thankfully I got insurance this time!) It was a total mess. But I still had a lot of fun.

Early crew!

Smoke!

I don't think you're allowed to use a fire extinguisher for that...

Dec 13: DTLA Artwalk

It's been over a year since I've been to the DTLA Artwalk. Now that I live downtown, its literally in my backyard. Jo and her sister have never been to the artwalk so Stephen and I showed them around. Oh what a fun and random night indeed. Egg nog. Spiced rum cider. Matching heart sweaters. Pocky. Bonfires. Lights. Balloons. Ramen. Minefields. 4th Street bridge. Brian McKnight. Silver Bells. Good night.

Dec 10: Willy Moon @ School Night! (Bardot, Hollywood)

Out on a Monday night? Well I'm always down for some new music. Willy Moon is on the rise with his old school rockabilly punk 'n funk sound. His band consists of a chick drummer and chick guitarist. Well played sir. Thank you for acknowledging me when I said wussup in the hallway. I can say I was there in the beginning now.

Dec 09: KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas 2012

"How did you get tickets?!"

I just have fast internet at work? It wasn't that hard... But I was lucky to snag some mezzanine center aisle seats! A good view for a great price. We missed Imagine Dragons, but got there in time for some of Alex Clare's set. Of Monsters and Men were awesome, but several technical difficulties caused the band and the crowd to be displeased. Grouplove was pretty good, as was Passion Pit. NEON TREES! They were pretty awesome. M83 was okay. Fun. was amazing! That boy can sing. Jack White blew my mind. And the Killers were... sub-par unfortunately. But my favorite part of the night was the secret special performance by Anaheim's very own NO DOUBT! What a superb lineup. I need to go again next year.

Ahh and my other favorite moment of the night! Iris and I took a picture with Santa earlier that night. As we were walking away, I SWEAR I thought I saw him move. But Iris having convinced herself that it was a statue said "Aww man, I should have put his hand on my boobs or something!" (Come on, let me finish the story before you think the punchline...)
So we go back later in the night to grab a drink, and the folks running the both were INSISTENT on having us take another picture with Santa! We didn't think too much of it and obliged. Iris having remembered what she thought before, proceeded to pick up Santa's wrist... And the rest is history.

I TOLD YOU HE WAS REAL! He almost got to 2nd base too... hah!
