Aug 29: World of Dance San Diego

After we hit up some of the shops and kicked it with some homies, Brian and I headed over to the San Diego Convention Center for World of Dance 2009 SD. The first person we ran into was Lizel (Kaba Legacy/Floorteenth Street). Miss ya at work! Why do we always match?!?

Workin' hard or hardly workin'. Kimtan's in da house!!

I'll let my brother take over from here. BRB...

hit the bboy circle first. thanks to the super nice breakers who actually cleared way so i could get in for some midriff and testicle shots.

here comes the super boringest part of my post. just some shots of a bunch of the dance crews on stage. i even cut it down from 200 shots or so. as well as cutting out pics of wack teams (and some good ones since i didn't have any decent shots). clicking on pics here gives you elongated versions. you're welcome.

well done and congrats. much deserved on both ends. and i must say that this was probably one of the best competitions i've ever attended. so many quality crews i've been stalking for years, plus it introduced some new faves i can groupie over (mix'd elements and the odds to name a couple.)

afterwards, met up with jomo's peeps for random standing around and awesome food. check his blog for that stuff. i don't know them well enough to post non-pixelated shots of them.

Thanks bro. I can't believe we were at this venue from 5pm to 12:30am. I was about to head home, but I wanted to see some of the other homies before we left. We walked our way over to Bar 923 (yeah it was a damn long walk). Gian was just kickin' it. Happy belated man.

Then we got hungry, Damo and Jenn joined my brother and me to Adalberto's. From a certain angle, the bottom of the 'D' is cutoff. It would read ANALBERTO'S. Always open.

Carnitas torta x carne asada fries.

Palms Floor 17 reunion. Thanks Damo for letting us chill at your spot for a minute.

The end of the road. Brian and I drove back from SD at 2:30am. Got home at about 4:00am. One last shot in the driveway for a What One's Wearing pic: True Blue 3s x Zoo York Blazers.

Miss ya SD. Maybe next time my visit won't be so short.

Thanks Brimo for taking cool pictures and making my blog look cool. You're cool.
