The Mystery Team Movie: Los Angeles Premiere via KaYoTiK

Sooo.... I actually got to take a picture with Donald Glover this time after the movie premiere and had a chance to say a few words. But I got star-struck and froze, barely getting in "I really like your raps dude." He even broke the ice first and said "Hey man what happened to your leg?! Did you hurt it in the theater from laughing so much?!" Goddamn funny dude! I fail. My picture with him was just as bad and unprepared. I had 5&A Dime mustache stickers in my pocket that I wanted him to use in the picture. Fail. Until next time... Great movie by the way! The rest of the Derrick Comedy guys are awesome too. I hope the DVD is stocked with massive extras.

This blog is presented by the Letter K. (Posted with the quickness right when he got home. That's blogger dedication.)

mystery team premiered today/friday at the NuArt in LA. anticipation and build up meant i had to come out for the opening. the moment that i've been hyping up for months had finally arrived.

i actually drove for once since this whole gathering was my idear.

while i was expecting lines to wrap the block, we got there super early with no one to be seen.

movie poster.

and a little comic done up at the box office.

we chilled in the lobby. caught a glimpse of DERRICK rolling by. they're so elusive.

they kicked us out to start line formation outside at around 9:20. then the masses came in.

filed in and staked our seats. no more blurry shots.

so apparently it was couples date night except for jomo and i. so homo.

after the show, the derrick peeps did a Q&A sesh.

the next movie was starting up in the theatre, so we took it to the streetz.

best friends i tell ya!

behind the scenes peeps: director dan and producer meggie. she's so cute!

D.C. apparently knew c-town was dropping by and had a special message ready.

childish gambino X bit of change mashup coming soon.

now that pictures are out of the way, i'll go ahead and say that this movie was one of the funniest things i've seen in ever. it surpassed all my impossibly high expectations. granted, it appeals to my specific sense of humor, so take it as you will. but if you liked anything them derrick kids have ever done, i do fully recommend watching it at some point in your life. it will also probably be the single DVD i buy this year (releasing May 25).

thanks everyone for coming out and indulging me. thanks derrick for being awesome. i wish i could go out and watch it again, but i have to watch pacquiao destroy someone saturday night.
