I can't say that I was familiar with his music outside of Samurai Champloo, but Bruce recently gave me a few of his albums to listen to and his name also came up in a convo with Jenn. It's an unfortunate loss for his friends, family, and his underground following worldwide.
He passed away at the age of 36 earlier this year, but the news has recently hit the US.
