Thanksgiving was spent at the Pangan household with the Pangans and Kaiklians. We had to wait for our parents to get there because they were lagggggggin. This only made me hungrier.
Honey-glazed ham. Mmmmmmmmmmm.
Big turkey.
Brian got this little baby turkey from his work. I didn't know they still gave out turkeys for bonuses.
The rest of the party shows up and we gather around the feast.
Saying Grace.
Group picture! I would think that my dad would have known to have taken this picture without the rice cooker in front to abosorb all the light. Rookie.
Kids always go first. We aren't really kids anymore, but hey we'll take it!
Check out this back scratcher arrangement. So feng shui.
The "kids" table: Jeremy, Jennifer.
Derek, Brian, Denson.
My plate. I was pretty weaksauce and only got 1 serving. I gotta learn to pace myself. Everything on here was good, but what stood out the most was the macaroni and cheese Jennifer made. She used smoked cheddar, sharp cheddar, and parmesan cheese. SUPERB!
Jeremy made this butternut squash and sweet potato soup. The flavor of the parsley and ginger was very crisp and delicious. (That was for you DK.) ALSO SUPERB!
Our little chefs for the evening. After dinner, they proceeded to make chocolate chip pumpkin cookies from scratch. Nice face Jeremy.
They let me polish off one of the beaters.
Someone please photoshop this.
We passed the time for the cookies to bake and played Catch Phrase. 2 kids in each family, so we naturally played the kuyas/ate (older brothers/sister) versus the babies. KUYAS/ATE for the win! Nice face Jenn.
The cookies are ready! And I can say without a doubt that they are wayyyy better than the Ralph's brand. I need this recipe Jennifer!
Guess what we played the rest of the night...
Apples to Apples. UHHH SON!!! Somehow this game hasn't gotten old yet.
I would have taken more pictures, but I was in a state of food coma for the rest of the night. No Black Friday campouts. Just went home and slept.
Things I'm thankful for: family, friends, good health, and my overall situation. I've always thought that I've been fortunate, but every year it seems to get better. Life is good.
